xBefore the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nike Air Max 1 came to a close in 2017, Nike squeezed in one more original colorway in December, this “Obsidian” edition. The Air Max 1 Obsidian replicates the original colorway of the shoe—a version that’s always been overshadowed by the two more famous red and white versions, but no less appealing. Like the other 30th anniversary Air Max 1’s, the Obsidian edition more accurately reproduces the original shape and materials of an original pair from 1987 than standard modern Air Max 1 releases, right down to the thin tongue construction. Truly a release that no Air Max fan should be without, grab your pair while you can. It could be 30 more years before you have another chance.
