xThe Nike Air Max 97 “Nintendo 64” is a playful colorway of the tried-and-true late ‘90s running shoe. This special release strikes a chord for anyone who came of age during the late 1990s, as Nike outfits their beloved Air Max with a colorway inspired by the Nintendo 64 gaming system. Pure nostalgia at its finest, the “Nintendo 64” Air Max 97 applies the colorful theme of both console and controller to the upper. Vibrant hues of green and blue contrast the silver leather and mesh base of the upper. Three small dots are placed on the front pull tab as a clever nod to the controller of the N64. The left and right tongues feature “Power” and “Reset” detailing, respectively. A black rubber midsole and visible toe-to-heel Max Air cushioning system in a yellow tint akin the buttons found on the controller completes the look of this throwback design.
