xThe Nike Air Max Penny 1 "Lester Middle School" is a colorway of Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway’s first signature shoe inspired by the middle school he attended as a child in Memphis, Tennessee. After playing on the school’s basketball team, Penny coached the team in the early 2010s before accepting the head coaching position of the Memphis Tigers college basketball team. As for the “Lester Middle School” Air Max Penny 1, the shoe is designed in the same color block as the model’s original “Black/Royal” colorway, except with yellow accents instead of blue. The upper features a black synthetic nubuck base with white detailing on the lateral side “wing” panels. Penny’s signature “1-Cent” branding is found on the heel, and yellow jewel Swooshes lay within the lateral side wings. A visible Air unit appears in the heel of the midsole to complete the celebrated sneaker. Release date: August 8, 2023
